My Search for Rest

What does it look like to just rest?  When do we need to rest? How do you do rest? Does that mean to sit still somewhere?  Take a nap?

I’m in the process of  figuring this out right now.  Recently my struggle has been that I’m going a million miles an hour, but my work ethic is not producing what I would like it to produce.  Am I doing something wrong? Should I change it up? I’m looking for what I perceive is success, but then I ask myself, what should success look like?

I believe It’s different for everyone, but I know what I think my success should look like!  I’m going to cut to the chase; I’ve been blinded lately by this drive, and I have not been seeing the good right in front of me. Wow, so much good!

I don’t believe the answer for me is a nap, because I’m not a nap kind of person. I believe it is taking a breath and making a choice – a choice to rest right where I am, to practise gratitude, to find contentment in this moment we have been given, This type of rest is what I’m striving for today.  I can’t say that I’m very good at it, or at least as good as I should be, but I’m going to try.  I believe I have been placed right here for right now to learn the lessons I need to learn… I will wait, be patient, create beauty, and give graciously.

How about you? What does this look like in your life?
